ABOUT HANDICAPPED EDUCATION FOUNDATION (HANDEF)

Handicapped Education Foundation (HANDEF) is a non-governmental, non religious and not-for-profit organization founded in December, 2003 and dedicated to facilitating the education and advancement of the rights and welfare of Persons With Disabilities (PWD). Since its inception, HANDEF has strived to improve and enhance the economic and social well-being of persons with disabilities through its varied programmes.

 

HANDEF also seeks to increase awareness and advocate decisive actions on the plight of the challenged members of the society, especially those who are still in school while providing skills acquisition and economic empowerment for young adults.

We are currently located in Ondo State of Nigeria but have in recent times extended our areas of operations to include the other state

 

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE:

HANDEF’S broad policies, programmed and budgets are determined and approved by our ebullient and resourceful Board of Trustees (BOT) comprising of Mrs. Olufunke Agagu, the FOUNDER, Dr. Peter Odili (Former Governor, Rivers State), Mr. Laolu Akinkugbe (Executive Director, Coca-Cola International), Senator Daisy Danjuma (Former-Senator, Federal Republic of Nigeria), Dr. Deji Adeleke (Chairman, Pacific Holdings) Mr. Jackson Gaius-Obaseki (Former Group Managing Director, NNPC), Mrs Oluwasolape Hammond, a management consultant, who acts as the secretary.

The programmes so approved are broken down into projects and their implementation is supervised by a team of eminent and accomplished committee members who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavor while the projects are implemented by the staffers of HANDEF.
